About the Artist
Zabi Sherzai is an accomplished oil and acrylic painter whose work bridges cultural memory with contemporary expression. Raised in the Bay Area of California, Zabi’s early exposure to both the vibrant landscapes of his new home and the rich heritage of his birthplace deeply shaped his artistic perspective.
EDUCATION
Zabi completed his formal artistic training at California State University, East Bay, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Along the way, he refined his skills and developed a distinct visual vocabulary rooted in emotional content, layered textures, and color narrative.
With over two decades of artistic exploration, Zabi has become known for his dynamic use of oil and acrylic mediums, merging classical methods with modern themes. Whether painting abstract compositions or expressive figures, Zabi’s work reflects a life-long dedication to creative expression.
To Zabi, being a painter is not a job, it is a way of life, a passion, and a voice. What he presents in his work is not only eyes to see, but an intimate encounter that speaks to people all over the world.
